First you want to make sure your coffee pot is cool and not too hot. If you just made a pot of coffee let it sit for a while until it has cooled down. You may even want to wait until the next morning before you make coffee to clean your pot.

Finally you need to rinse the pot out with cold water. It is a good idea to do this about once a month so that your coffee pot stays clean. When you make coffee it is very common to have your pot stain because of the coffee color. Regular cleaning will keep it like new.
